01 / About

RCSA fosters a community for Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship recipients at UC Berkeley. From alumni industry dinners to faculty game nights, we give scholars ways to connect with each other and share resources.

Membership comes with the scholarship. Scholars can get more involved by joining one of our eight committees, and applications open every fall.

Alumni

The Alumni Committee serves as a bridge between current scholars and RCSA's diverse base of Regents' alumni. The committee hosts industry dinners, social mixers, and more to provide a casual setting for students and alumni to meet. The committee also organizes a formal mentorship program in the spring semester that matches students and alumni with common professional interests.

External

Corporate Relations

The Corporate Relations (CR) Committee heads all professional development and career advancement opportunities for RCSA. The committee helps its members develop a strong repertoire of professional and interpersonal skills, allowing it to frequently partner and work with companies at the forefront of their industries. These collaborations are focused toward providing scholars the best platform for networking and professional growth.

External

Media & Marketing

The Media & Marketing (M&M) Committee facilitates most avenues of communication between other committees and members of the association. The committee trains its members to be aesthetically inclined creatives with keen eyes for design. Using marketable skills, including knowledge of Adobe software (Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom) and DSLR photography, the committee regularly creates promotional material for RCSA. Members also have the opportunity to build their own design portfolios through project-based assignments.

Regents' Overnight Host Program

The Regents' Overnight Host Program (ROHP) Committee runs ROHP, the recruiting arm for the Regents' & Chancellor's Scholarship. During spring semester, the committee arranges six weekend programs showcasing Cal to prospective scholarship recipients. ROHP provides a great opportunity for scholars from all backgrounds to present the diverse experiences, majors, and interests found at Berkeley. From coordinating performances to scheduling professors and designing merchandise, the committee provides its members networking and professional development experience.

Internal

Faculty

The Faculty Committee works behind the scenes to orchestrate scholar-specific and faculty-centered events. The committee plans a few small events but caps off each semester with a large-scale and themed Faculty Game Night, allowing for committee members to take initiative and show off their creativity. The main goal of the committee is to facilitate robust student-faculty relations and encourage faculty involvement in the association.

Internal

Social

The Social Committee aims to connect and strengthen the RCSA community through a wide range of scholar-specific social events, from Big C hikes to karaoke nights. The committee organizes events at which scholars can meet and bond with one another, as well as hosts the end-of-the-year banquet. The committee also plays a large role in the welcome events that take place at the start of each academic year for both incoming and returning scholars.

Internal

TEDx

The TEDxBerkeley (TEDx) Committee organizes TEDxBerkeley, an award-winning, TED-based nonprofit that hosts an annual event in Zellerbach Auditorium for over 2000 attendees. Completely organized by a student team, TEDxBerkeley events seek to capture the spirit of Berkeley by gathering visionary thinkers and leaders from the Bay Area and beyond to spark new ideas, insights, and opportunities.

Internal

WebDev

The Web Development (WebDev) Committee supports and updates the association's official website (the one you're currently looking at). The committee utilizes numerous tools such as HTML/CSS, Javascript, and Python to fix both front and back-end issues and manages relevant scholar data, such as stole point records. In addition, it works collaboratively with other committees so that the website is up-to-date with the latest information and events.
